Between Getting and Winning.
Quick thoughts.
I was reminded earlier today about the difference between getting something and winning something, even though at the end the result is the same (you received a thing). The difference in the process makes all the difference long term.
Winning compounds and creates habits of winning. Getting creates habits of receiving, entitlement and laziness.
Compounding habits of pro-active winning is what changes the world.
I was reminded today that there is a difference between getting something and winning something. In both instances, the end result is the same… you received a something. But the difference is in the how, and that HOW is the reas
I never experienced this, but some parents let their kids win in board games in order to instill confidence or in order to not have the child have a meltdown. My Dad never let us win. If we won in monopoly, it was because we bested him. If we won in chess it was because we bested him.
It’s probably the reason that I’m adequate at all board games.
But more than that, I earned the victories.
