A majority of people who have met me know that I have been obsessed with comic books since I was six. I have a presentation I give where my opening line is “I’m probably more qualified to talk about comic books than venture capital.”

My favorite comic book for the last 12 years has been a comic book called “Invincible,” created by Robert Kirkman, who also created the Walking Dead and numerous other pieces of awesome intellectual property. I believe that the Compendium of Invincible is a top 5 Sci-Fi book series of all time. That includes Dune, Harry Potter, Enders Game, and Red Rising.

Invincible now has a TV show on Amazon Prime to check out! (Although it’s a cartoon, don’t watch with young children)

I’m writing this post for a few reasons.

1. I am on the board of Skybound - which is a story for another post

2. I absolutely love the company and will start to write a little more about what I’ve learned and my experience on the board (still limited)

3. Additionally they have an equity crowd funding campaign going on right now and if you like comic books or the business of character IP - you should take a look

Skybound’s performance as a company has been stellar. Their financials are on the Republic profile, and the business of character IP is a fun one to be a part of. There’s no fandom like character fandom!! If you like Invincible or Walking Dead it will make you even more engaged with the content to be an investor!
