Pride is a fascinating emotion.
There are talents you take pride in.
There are people you are proud of.
There are decisions you feel pride for.
When making decisions though, pride is the enemy. It distorts your perspective one way or the other.
Pride is what drives “in for a penny, in for a pound.”
Pride is what keeps you from apologizing for wrong doing.
Pride is the reason you are being stubborn rather than high conviction.
I think about the balance of “Stubborn” vs. “High Conviction” in decision making a lot, and through the lens of pride… your pride forces you to be stubborn and not see the other options. It focuses you down one path, rather than the best outcome.
