From the Boost VC portfolio, Launcher was recently acquired by Vast. Launcher was one of the few boards I have ever taken, and with that developed an even deeper obsession with the space frontier! I am no longer on the board, and now wish to invest deeper in the Space sector!

To give a quick understanding of the Boost VC Space portfolio:

Starfish Space: Move things in Space
Source Energy: Energy in Space
Argo Space: Mining the moon for fuel.
SpaceDots: New Materials in Space.
TRL11: Real Time Video in/from Space.
Exclosure: Track things in space.
K2 Space: Big satellites…. like huge… in space.
Venus Aerospace: Get from LA to Tokyo in an hour.
Careweather: Satellite Monitoring for Weather.
Additive Space: 3D print massive structures in space.

At Boost VC, our business is to champion the peak of human endeavor, and the space community is obviously a massive part of that future. Space has enabled some of the best innovations on the planet as well as off: GPS being the most impactful in the last few decades.

So without more words, these are the concepts we are looking to invest in.

  • Data transfer for space: As we launch more space crafts and sensors into space, there is more data that needs to be moved throughout the atmosphere as fast as possible. In the Sci-Fi Book “Enders Game” they create something called “the Ansible” that allows for instant, universal communication. Lets get to that!

  • More knowledge around material science and bio experiments being done in space: This could be software or hardware. There is a lot of R&D happening in Space right now, and it’s not clear what the outcomes of those experiments are. Opening up the information would be amazing. Also creating new types of materials!

  • Leveraging space data for earth outcomes: I mentioned this in the intro paragraph, but what is the next GPS? Because of GPS, every company is a Space company, from Uber to Google. More ubiquitous sensors will enable new habits and behaviors on land too!

  • Investing in the LEO »»» Deep Space transition :There’s a transition in the Space race, where governments are allowing for the private sector to explore LEO, while they plan for Lunar/Deep Space. So many new technologies or old technologies will need to be evolved in this transition. We will be a Space species, and that economy needs development!

Hi Adam. I am an advisor to a Space company that has developed a platform that provides access to space assets; physical and digital pay loads, plus data. Let’s chat.

Data transfer for space was a huge plot point of Rogue One too! It’s a problem across sci-fi!
