We Invested $1m in 4 Deep Tech Startups!
2 weeks ago, we announced that we would invest $1m across four companies for Deep Tech Demo Day.
Today I wanted to announce that we did just that!! It was a hefty week to do all the interviews and investments.
I think that Deep Tech has a way of creating a perception that technology needs to be complicated to be useful, this Demo Day showed that Deep Technology is about simplifying the technology for a specific customer and market. The founders were incredible and it was difficult to choose our final list, but we did it!! The common thread was automation around every day life.
Here are the founders and companies that we got to invest in because of Deep Tech Demo Day:
YardRobotics: Lawn mowing robots to automate yard work.
Founded by two alumni of Cruise Automation
Mission is to unlock human potential by automating uninteresting work
5m sq feet of yard mowed by robotic lawnmowers and growing every day!
Train Fitness: Track human activities using Wearables & AI (Download App)
Investment nominated by Anorak Ventures
400,000 workouts have been tracked in just 6 months
Starting with Fitness but the goal is to be the GPS for human motion
Boundless Robotics: Food growing Robots, starting with Cannabis (Pre-Sales Here)
The founder has been building robots for decades and has a dream to enable urban dwellers to grow their food where they live.
These robots are live, in homes and making their customers VERY happy.
